First post of 2013 Feb 3, 2013

Wow this year is speeding by no posts for January. So we have slowed down a little as the outside is now almost done. We are concentrating on the grass and the vegetable gardens now that the greenhouse is finished with its new walkway.

These beds are flourishing with Potatoes nearest the greenhouse and in front of it from left to right we have cabbage then three kinds of squash continuing with broccoli, and cauliflower all up and getting stronger every day.

We have new bamboo plants in front yard that will go in as a privacy screen along the wall above next to the turnaround.

The wall behind where the bamboo is being stored now has three new variegated leaf shrubs that match the color scheme of the plantings around the drive and are also planted along the outside of the orchard wall.

The orchard grass is getting fuller all the time now that we are getting a little rain.

In the month since our last posting the orchard garden beds have exploded. we now are harvesting Kale, Turnips, Spinach, Carrots and  Sweet Pea pods for our dinner table.

As you can see the turnips are literally bursting out of the soil.

In the back yard we have had to put up a fence to keep the boys out so the grass can get started. After two weeks it already looks a lot better.

Speaking of the boys here they are at 9 1/2 months weighing in at over 100 lbs each.

You can see the difference from when they were three months and about 25 lbs each below.

Now we just have to teach them some manners so they don't knock our visitors over.
