LAST POSTING OF 2015

Lets start with Santa Anita houses:

Here is the view from just inside the gate:

There is a new house going in on first lot on left

and further in on the right Paul and Angela have added some color to the neighborhood

Here is the approach to our house which looks pretty much the same.

But the view from the turnaround at the end of the drive is a little different with the pool house dominating the back yard.

The garden behind the garage now sports 5 new raised beds to replace those lost in the orchard due to construction access.

And also due to the construction we have lots of scrap wood piling up (after we cut it up)

here is Ane surveying the remains of the scrap pile and another wood stack
we will have lots of fires now.

and the cause of it all, here is the front of the pool house with grass back and some landscaping planted along the front

Inside is the gem of the year our salt water pool-
from the back towards the door.

from the front corner

and from the doorway

out the front door of the pool house we see the soon to be painted closet addition and new sidewalks.

the grass is returning on the back side of the pool house too

Meanwhile over in the orchard the citrus trees are bursting with fruit.

and the avocado is also setting on fruit

Inside the house the new walk-in closet has new floor and lots of new closet fixtures. Here is the entry.

with new hanging area on left

and right

and lots of new shelves

So there we are lots of changes this year

Seasons greetings to all.
see you next year.....

 October 24, 2015
Well I find it hard to believe its been over a month since last post. So much has happened!!
Lets start with the mundane..
The Kitchen sink!
(it kept backung up and the plunger was a counter top accessory)

Alfonso dug up the old drain which ran under the middle of the sidewalk.

we then built a collection box  at the kitchen junction, another at end of sidewalk  and another out in the middle of the driveway entrance which entailed much digging and pipe laying.

from the  end of the sidewalk diagonally across the yard to the street

and then across the front of house to the new sewer connection box at entrance to driveway

during this project we also installed a 11/2 inch tube from the electrical access on the street into the same ditch ( we had already covered it up so had to redig the front yard ditch) and along the side of the new 4 inch sewer line across the back yard to the corner of the pool house..... (as seen from the corner of the pool house   Whew!

After all that we rebuilt the sidewalk.

OK NOW FOR THE POOL UPDATE!
last time we had just finished the entrance steps,
well now the tile is done!

and the entrance roof is also complete

Inside paint is done and the outside paint goes on.

Inside the tile went in

meanwhile the glass arrived for the roof

and was soon finished along with the tile work

Ready for water!!

(But not until we get doors installed so we can control the boys!
Door eta is not for two more weeks)

Time marches on and now the window frames are in and await glass

We also anticipate that the gutters will arrive soon so we can clean up the splattered mud on lower wall.

FOUR MORE PROJECTS TO REPORT ON...

Project #1. We had a really heavy rain and the area in front of the pool house turned into a lake so we are installing a "French Drain" to alleviate that problem. First from corner of house and across front of pool entrance

Project #2. an extension of the patio across the front of the pool entrance steps here Alfonso lays the plastic before the cement goes in.

and the finished red colored extension. we will probably add tile like the patio tile later.

Project #3 is just another 2-3 weeks of chaos, is an extension of the Master Bedroom Closet.
so here the foundation has been dug.

and two days later the floor is pored and two walls are up and we now have ventilation in our old closet.

and last but not least project #4 is our friend Nancy Hannigan has started painting a mural on the long white wall next to the pool.
the start,

and after about 4 days.

So there you have the reason why I haven't been posting much the last month.
(too busy running here and there buying materials!!!)
