Well progress has been made this week

here is our posting for August 22nd

They first installed more horizontal steel for the wall top cap

when that was poured all the way around they laid more brick on the back wall and installed yet another row of steel and cement for the final cap

Here is a shot of the back wall with window openings and final height

Mean while they started coating the raw bricks with cement - here is how they do it

Front wall is finished this weekend 

It will be painted white later to match the house

at the far end the roof of the mechanical room takes shape

After much deliberation we chose our tiles for the pool and floor and they have arrived

They started the finish on the interior walls and should be finished with all wall finishing by end of next week.

Back and frount walls stand ready for the roof beams

and we took delivery of the beams after Hugo our job manager hand picked them out in Otavallo

We are accumulating quite a large amount of scrap wood from forms for concrete work. We will have lots of firewood to cut up when done.

OK WELL THINGS HAVE BEEN BUSY

ALREADY AUGUST 13TH!! WOW

HERE'S OUR UPDATE

After the pool floor area was stabilized with larger rock they filled the area with a layer of concrete and then lined the cavity with heavy plastic sheeting

Next came the rigid foam insulation

then the steel for the pool floor and walls and the cement truck arrives to pour the pool floor

the pour begins after much environmental damage positioning the cement pump and the truck

everyone is engaged in the pour

Leveled as they went

Then the finishing machine smooths everything out

Next morning forming up for pouring the walls

Lots of steel (i thought we were putting in a prison)

Pool takes shape after pour and forms removed

rough plumbing goes in

Crew moves excess dirt from outside wall into the inner cavity and also cleans up the area

area looks much better after cleanup

Inner cavity/floor area is back filled to get ready for pouring floor

Floor drains go in

Walls have gone up quickly
